swift，一種強大的開源程式語言，
swift is a high-performance system programming language. it has a clean and modern syntax, offers seamless access to existing c and objective-c code and frameworks, and is memory safe by default.
on december 3, 2015, the swift language, supporting libraries, debugger, and package manager were published under the apache 2.0 license with a runtime library exception, and swift.org was created to host the project.蘋果公司在wwdc 2014上宣布了他們將會推出一款新的程式語言，面向ios和os x系統的開發人員，這個新的語言被命名為swift。
swift在ios 8發布的時候推向市場，用來取代 objective-c 語言。 對於這個巨大的決定，蘋果公司的解釋是swift速度更快，使用起來更加容易。 在swift推出之後，蘋果公司應該不會停止對 objective-c 的支援，開發工具會同時支援兩種語言。
在 swift 開源後，開發者社群活躍。目前 cocoapods 中有大量的第三方開發庫已經支援 swift。
