在建立了使用者定義的樣式表並將它儲存在硬碟驅動器上（某個使用者能記住位置的地方）之後，使用者需要告訴瀏覽器使用它。使用者如何做取決於使用哪種瀏覽器。

在internet explorer中，它位於可訪問性之下的首選項中。如下圖所示：

如果使用firefox，需要把規則新增到user.css檔案。在opera中，它是讓使用者選擇使用者定義樣式表的文件下面的首選項。在safari中，它是高階首選項
