2. after installation, hit'e' to get grub screen, and type 'e' for 2-3 times, you can see the grub screen 'linux ......'
3. change 'auiet splash' to 'nosplash nomodeset' on line that starts with 'linux'
4. crtl-x to continue booting
5. after login, activate proprietary nvidia drivers (requires internet access?)
6. edit /etc/default/grub : change to grub_cmdline_linux_default='nosplash nomodeset'
7. sudo update-grub
